To provide personal and asset protection for patients, visitors and employees throughout the Medical Center facility, and to prevent any potential hazardous conditions through continuous monitoring of all areas.

Maintains personal and asset security by conducting complete and through hazard surveillance rounds with strong emphasis on protecting patients, staff and hospital property. Monitor radio communication, telephone and written notes for daily information; uses various methods of communication to include electronic and manual.

Attends and participates in scheduled training, staff meetings and in-services per established Department standards.

Responds to all STAT calls throughout the facility (eg. Mr. Firestone, Mr. Strong, Code Pink) and all additional emergency calls throughout the facility as established by departmental policy.

Document accurate investigation reports and daily activity logs, to include Hazard Rounds, as activity occurs in a timely manner as per departmental policy.

Required Minimum Experience: High School Diploma or equivalent. Valid Class C driver’s license required with no more than two (2) Points on current driving record. At least one (1) year of Health care Safety and Security experience preferred but not required. IAHSS Basic Officer Certification required within 90 days of hire.

Very heavy work: Exerting in excess of 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or in excess of 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or in excess of 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Physically capable of walking, standing for long periods of time but not limited to bending and or kneeling required.
